Oakland Terms & Conditions

These terms govern access to Oakland County Released Inmates and its links, reference material, and sponsored search features. Using any part of the site means that you accept these conditions. Oakland County Released Inmates is privately owned. It has no connection to Oakland County, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, any court, jail, police agency, the Michigan Department of Corrections, or another government body. Neither this resource nor its advertising partners offers a service regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The site helps visitors locate Oakland County and Michigan custody and release-record resources, but it is not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency. Its information must not be used for credit, employment, insurance, tenant screening, or any other FCRA-covered decision.

Nature of This Resource

This is a private reference site. It does not hold government authority, store official custody files, or speak for an agency. Site operators cannot release a person, change a record, confirm a current jail status, file a court paper, accept a bond, or give instructions on behalf of Oakland County Jail or MDOC.

The pages identify government offices, public locators, court resources, and outside research tools that may help a visitor find source material. Any official confirmation must come from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the relevant court, MDOC, or the federal or immigration agency that created the record.

Rules for Acceptable Use

Use must be lawful, respectful, and consistent with the limited reference purpose of the site. By using it, you agree that you will not:

  • Make employment, housing, lending, insurance, or similar eligibility decisions from site content
  • Try to enter an account, server, or system without authorization
  • Run automated bots, scrapers, crawlers, or bulk collection tools
  • Interfere with site operation or another visitor’s access

  • Hiring, firing, promotion, or another employment decision

  • Creditworthiness, lending, or insurance premiums and coverage
  • Licensing, permits, benefits, or government-program eligibility
  • Any other purpose regulated by the FCRA

Outside Websites and Services

Links may lead to Oakland County release records, sheriff and corrections pages, Michigan public portals, federal locators, legal-aid resources, and third-party search services. A link is supplied for convenience and does not mean that the destination is owned, endorsed, or guaranteed by this site. Outside operators control their own content, prices, data practices, terms, security, and availability. Review their terms and privacy notices before submitting information or paying for a service.

Service Provided As Is

The site, its text, and its functions are offered “as is” and “as available.” No express or implied warranty is made about:

  • The accuracy, completeness, or current state of any information
  • Continuous or uninterrupted access to pages or tools
  • Freedom from errors, harmful code, defects, or security weaknesses
  • The scope, quality, or completeness of a partner’s search results

Custody status, release information, court dockets, office procedures, and public records can change quickly. Nothing published here is an official statement from OCSO, Oakland County, MDOC, a court, ICE, the Bureau of Prisons, or another government agency. Verify a fact with the office that created it.

Limits on Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Oakland County Released Inmates and those involved in operating it will not be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from access, inability to access, reliance on content, use of linked services, or loss of data. This limit applies regardless of the legal theory asserted and even if the possibility of harm was known.

Your Duty to Indemnify

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Oakland County Released Inmates, its operators, and its content partners from claims, losses, liabilities, costs, and reasonable legal fees that arise from your use of the site, your misuse of information, your violation of another person’s rights, or your breach of these terms.

Ownership of Site Materials

Unless another owner is identified, original text, graphics, logos, page design, and code belong to Oakland County Released Inmates or its content partners and are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. You may not reproduce, publish, distribute, sell, modify, or create derivative works from those materials without prior written permission. Government records and agency materials remain subject to their own ownership and access rules.

Updates to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A new version becomes effective when it is posted on this page. Continued use after posting means that you accept the revised conditions. Check this page when you need the current version.

Suspension or Loss of Access

Access may be limited, suspended, or ended at any time, for any lawful reason, and without advance notice. This right includes action taken to protect the site, its users, its partners, or another person from suspected misuse or disruption.

Michigan Law Applies

Michigan law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that may properly proceed in court must be filed in a court with jurisdiction in Michigan. Nothing in this section changes a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be waived.

Terms Remain Severable

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will stay in effect. The affected language will be limited or adjusted only as much as needed to make it enforceable while preserving its intended purpose.
